Coding Sensing Making: Documenting the Journey

Today marks the last day of our Coding, Sensing, Making class with Andreas, and we surprised him with a cake, I think he almost cried. It is also the same day that we received the news about Lasalle and NAFA joining to be one school of art. So a cake was very appropriate.

Apart from fun festivities, we have learned to do HTML last week. It stands for Hypertext Markup Language. It basically allows the user to create and structure sections of images, videos, paragraphs, headings, and body of texts, it is mostly used for creating websites/blogs. It is also simpler compared to Java code in my opinion.

One of the objectives of the HTML workshop is to create one blog to represent all of the works we've done in Coding, Sensing, and Making class. From the very first day of the urban fieldwork project to the making session of our LED lights. Andreas has provided us with an HTML blog template and we had to put our own content into it. It was a very interesting session where we all gathered the documentation materials that we have collected over the course of 5 weeks and put it all in one spot, it feels great to see our progress.

Also part of the HTML workshop is this very blog you are reading right now. I did some tweaks to the traditional blogger layout and made it more.... me.

And overall, this class has been very useful in a way that it can be applied to help our research and daily lives. It is very essential for us to at least know the basic codings because the digital world is made out of codes. Every website, apps, program, and even microwave relies on code in order to operate. This makes coders the architects of the digital age. It also helps me develop an appreciation of how things work.
